Demolition Insurance

Demolition concentrates risk — vibration, dust, falling structures and strikes on services can damage everything around the site, and the limits get large fast. We place cover with insurers who write high-hazard work, at limits that match the contracts you're bidding.

What demolition insurance covers

High-limit public liability

Damage to neighbouring buildings, vehicles and third parties is the defining demolition claim. We arrange the $10m–$20m (and higher) limits principals and councils demand, with your methods disclosed so cover holds.

Surrounding property & underground services

Strikes on gas, power, water and comms, and vibration or collapse damage next door, are where the big numbers are. We make sure that exposure is written in, not excluded.

Asbestos & hazardous materials

Asbestos and contaminant handling carry their own liability and are commonly excluded from standard cover. If it's part of your work, we place it deliberately rather than leaving it to chance.

Cover, limits and examples shown are general in nature and subject to eligibility, underwriting and the terms of the issued policy.

FAQ

Demolition insurance questions.

Speak with our team on 1300 080 323.

What insurance do demolition contractors need?
High-limit public and products liability is the core, often $20 million or more, plus plant and, where relevant, contract works and asbestos liability. The right build depends on the jobs you take — we match it to your contracts.
Is asbestos removal covered by demolition insurance?
Not by default — asbestos and hazardous materials are frequently excluded and need to be specifically arranged. If your work involves them, we place cover that names them so a claim isn't refused.
Why place demolition cover through a broker?
Because it's high-hazard work that most direct insurers won't quote well, the limits are large, and the exclusions are where you get caught. A broker markets it to insurers who write it and makes sure the scope is actually covered.
