Liability Insurance

Liability insurance isn't one thing — public, products and professional liability each cover a different kind of claim, and the wrong one leaves a gap exactly where you're exposed. We work out which your work actually needs, and place them at the limits your contracts require.

What liability insurance covers

Public & products liability

For injury or property damage to others from your work or a product you supply. The cover most businesses are asked for first.

Professional indemnity

For claims that your advice, design or service caused a client financial loss — a different exposure that public liability doesn't answer.

Management & other liabilities

Directors' and management liability, statutory and employment exposures — the covers a growing business adds as its risk broadens. We flag what applies.

Cover, limits and examples shown are general in nature and subject to eligibility, underwriting and the terms of the issued policy.

What are the different types of liability insurance?
The main three are public liability (injury or damage to others), products liability (harm from a product you supply) and professional indemnity (a claim your advice or service caused loss). Larger businesses also add management and statutory liability. We work out which you need.
What's the difference between public liability and professional indemnity?
Public liability covers physical injury and property damage; professional indemnity covers financial loss from your advice, design or service. Trades usually need the first, advice-based businesses need the second, and many need both. We match it to your work.
Which liability cover does my business need?
It depends on what you do — a trade's exposure is different to a consultant's or a manufacturer's. That's the part a broker settles: we identify the liabilities you actually carry and place cover at the limits your contracts name.
