Making a claim
When something goes wrong, our team does the heavy lifting. We lodge the claim and advocate with the insurer so you can get back to business — or back to normal — as quickly as possible.
1. Make things safe, then call us
First, make sure everyone is safe. If someone is injured, or there's a fire, a break-in or another emergency, call 000 and the relevant authorities before anything else. Then call us on 1300 080 323 or email claims@stonewellinsurance.com.au. Do what you reasonably can to prevent further loss — secure the property, stop the leak, arrange temporary repairs — and keep the receipts for anything you spend.
2. Have these handy
- Your policy or insured name
- What happened, with the date and time
- Photos of the damage or loss, and of the scene before anything is moved, repaired or cleaned up
- Details of anyone else involved, and any police or event reference number
- Any invoices, quotes or documents showing what was lost or damaged
- Any costs you have already had to cover — temporary repairs, storage or a call-out
3. We lodge and advocate
We submit the claim to your insurer, brief the assessor, keep you updated and push for a fair, prompt outcome. If a claim is disputed, or a third party is pursuing you, having a broker in your corner is exactly when it pays off.
