Commercial Motor Insurance

A ute or van that works for a living is a different risk to a private car, and a policy that treats it like one either costs too much or leaves a gap. Commercial motor cover is rated on how the vehicle is actually used — the loads, the tools, the kilometres — which is how you get cover that fits and holds at claim time.

What commercial motor insurance covers

The vehicle & third-party damage

Comprehensive cover for your ute, van or light commercial, and damage it causes to others' property — rated on its real commercial use.

Tools & goods carried

The equipment and stock in the vehicle, which a private-car policy typically won't cover. We make sure what you carry is on the policy.

Fleets & multiple vehicles

One program across several vehicles, rated on use and often more cost-effective than separate policies. We structure it to grow with you.

Cover, limits and examples shown are general in nature and subject to eligibility, underwriting and the terms of the issued policy.

Commercial motor insurance questions.

Speak with our team on 1300 080 323.

What is commercial motor insurance?
It's motor cover for vehicles used for business — utes, vans, light commercials and fleets — rated on how they're actually used rather than a private-car assumption. That accurate rating is what keeps a claim from being disputed later.
Can I use private car insurance for a work ute?
Not reliably — if the vehicle is used for business and it's insured as private, a claim can be reduced or declined for non-disclosure. If you carry tools, goods or use it commercially, it should be on a commercial motor policy.
Are the tools in my van covered?
Not by the motor policy alone in most cases — tools and goods in the vehicle usually need to be specifically covered, whether on the motor policy or a tools-of-trade section. We make sure what you carry isn't the gap.
