Real Estate Agent Insurance

Real estate is advice-and-trust work — a misdescribed property, a mishandled trust account, a property management decision that costs a landlord. Professional indemnity is the cover for those claims, and in most states it's a condition of your licence. We place it to satisfy the regulator and the way you actually operate.

What real estate agents insurance covers

Professional indemnity

For claims of negligence, error or misrepresentation in a sale, lease or property management. It's the profession's core cover and, in most states, a licensing requirement with a set minimum limit.

Public liability

For the injury at an open home or an inspection — a visitor who trips, a property you're showing. The everyday physical exposure alongside the professional one.

Cyber liability

Agencies move money and hold client identity data, which makes trust-account fraud and email compromise a live threat. Cyber cover funds the response when a scam or breach lands.

Cover, limits and examples shown are general in nature and subject to eligibility, underwriting and the terms of the issued policy.

Real estate agents insurance questions.

Speak with our team on 1300 080 323.

Is professional indemnity insurance mandatory for real estate agents?
In most Australian states, yes — it's a condition of holding a licence, with a minimum limit set by the state (NSW, for example, requires it under the Property and Stock Agents framework). We place cover that meets your state's requirement.
Does it cover property managers as well as sales agents?
It should — property management decisions, from tenant selection to repairs and trust handling, are a growing source of claims. We make sure the cover reflects the work your agency actually does, sales and management both.
What about trust account fraud and email scams?
That's a cyber and crime exposure, separate from professional indemnity, and agencies are a frequent target because they move deposits and settlements. We can place cyber cover alongside your PI so a compromise is funded, not worn.
