General Insurance

General insurance is everything that isn't life or health — home, motor, business, liability, property, farm and the rest. The difference between buying it from one insurer and arranging it through a broker is choice and advocacy: we place each cover across a panel of insurers, and we're on your side at claim time.

Each cover marketed across a panel of insurers to fit your situation, including markets you can't reach directly.

A broker at claim time

Someone who knows your policies advocating for you when a claim happens — the part that separates a broker from a website.

Cover, limits and examples shown are general in nature and subject to eligibility, underwriting and the terms of the issued policy.

What is general insurance?
It's the broad category covering everything that isn't life or health — home, contents, motor, business, liability, property and farm. A general insurance broker arranges these across personal and commercial lines, placed across a panel of insurers.
Why use a broker instead of buying direct?
For two reasons: a broker markets your cover across a panel of insurers so it fits your situation rather than one insurer's range, and a broker advocates for you at claim time. For anything beyond the simplest policy, that's where the value is.
Does a broker cost more than going direct?
Usually not — on most commercial cover the insurer pays the broker's commission out of the premium, not you, and the advice and claims advocacy come with it. We're upfront about how we're paid before anything is arranged.
